My father, John Colin ‘Big John’ MacDonald was always fascinated by genealogy. When he retired after many years as a lobster fisherman at Little Judique Ponds, he was able to pursue his dream of gathering, researching and organizing his genealogical knowledge. Together with his wife Mildred Doucette MacDonald and his younger cousin Cathy ‘Rory’ Mac Donald Gillies, they put together this book, published in 1985. The extensive research was done without the use of the Internet and the manuscript was typed on a typewriter at MacDonald dining room table. Although our people are dispersed all over the world we are held together by the kinship documented in this book. We thank them for this precious resource.   Colleen MacDonald MacLeod (page 121, Fair is the Place)
